Karen Flannery, the firm’s founder and managing member, is also a certified financial planner™ (CFP®), which allows us to look at your financial life more holistically.
While our offices are in Long Branch, NJ, Flannery & Associates can prepare federal and state tax returns for clients in all 50 states. We offer virtual services nationwide, using secure video conferencing and file-sharing technology that meets industry compliance requirements. Even if you decide to move, we’ll always be there for you.

A Note from Our Founder.
I started my career as an accountant in 1992, working for two medium-sized accounting firms prior to launching Flannery & Associates. Although I was very proud of how I helped my clients during that time, I always felt like I could do more. Rather than talking to people once a year at tax time, I wanted to build long-term relationships with clients and become their go-to source of information about taxes and financial planning.
This led me to start my own accounting firm and become a CFP®. The fact is, all aspects of your financial life are linked, whether we’re talking about taxes, investments, estates, retirement, divorce, insurance, college funding, or mortgages. As a CPA and CFP®, I know how one financial decision affects another. I know how life changes can affect your financial well-being. My clients appreciate the perspective that I bring to the table.
Of course, this has also allowed me to develop closer client relationships and fulfill my original vision for Flannery & Associates.
Our team takes pride in being able to provide comfort and assurance, especially during times of stress and uncertainty. We never judge. We listen with an open mind.
